Dear All, Hope you are all well and surviving during the power cuts. We all coping fairly well.
The group have just come back from a highly successful tour of France. Whilst they were there they had a few “interesting” experiences:
1) Charlie, Pol and Rob were caught in a runaway car!!! The gears got stuck and the driver went under the car to try and dislodge the gearbox and dislodged the brake. He dived out of the way and the car careered towards the oncoming traffic!!! Pol leant over the back seat and steered while Charlie leant over the seat and found the brake!! Happily it all ended well with everyone safe.
2) Ken and Pol were leapt on by French skinheads and Ken had to have three stitches in his head!!!!!
3) FAMILY were the second group to play in Marseilles and, like the Stones, the concert ended in a riot. The police came complete with truncheons and tear gas!!! All pop groups are now banned in Marseilles!!!!
Roger is resting at the moment suffering from nervous exhaustion and has been ordered to bed for a complete rest. Apart from all this it was a very good tour with the group getting great receptions from the French crowds.
They are off to America in the next couple of months as the album is in the charts over there. Tony and Roger have just spent about a week in the States on a promotion tour. “Larf and Sing” is to be released in the States as a single.
There is a possibility of the group going into the studio to record a new single in March. They are off to Norway for ten days this month with Stan and Harvey driving all the way.
Dates: 16th Orchid Ballroom Purley · 18th Imperial College London · 25th Glen Ballroom Llanelly. Luv and things, Lee.
