Promoter Gordon Vickers of 31 Cambrian-avenue, Chester, had booked ‘The Roarin’ Sixties beat group four months ago with an agent in Manchester’ — then two months later booked ‘The Family’ on the same bill, without realising they were the same band. When only Family arrived at 8pm and explained, Vickers scrambled. ‘A Chester group called The Bo Lynx at one hour’s notice’ filled in; Family played three hours of their own slot while Bo Lynx covered the phantom middle hour.
