Roger Chapman released the live double CD In My Own Time in Germany on 19 April 1999. It documents the mature late-1990s Shortlist and incorporates several performances associated with the planned 1993 Tour de Force Live project, which had never received its intended release.

Contemporary review. The reviewer’s only real complaint is the packaging: the promotional double CD supplies no dates or venues and identifies the recordings merely as 1999. The performances themselves are judged far more generously.
The review hears Chapman and the Shortlist demonstrating qualities that technical ability alone cannot provide. It praises the deep rhythmic drive, the exchanges between guitar and Hammond organ, and the force of performances including “The Weaver’s Answer” and “Toucan Play.” “Sixteen Tons,” “Delta Lady,” “Hideaway,” “Let’s Go Get Stoned” and “Shadow on the Wall” help turn the set into a broad survey of blues, jazz, gospel, soul and rock. The final verdict is that, for receptive ears, this is live material with no expiration date.
