The GroovesLiner Notes
Released as a single LP on Acrobat (ACRO 6), Live in Hamburg was recorded at the Markthalle on 28 August 1979 and captured the first Shortlist line-up: Roger Chapman, Geoff Whitehorn, Tim Hinkley, Jerome Rimson, Mel Collins, drummer Leonard “Stretch” Stretching, and backing vocalists Helen Hardy and Kathy O'Donoghue.
A later 1981 German Line limited edition expanded the package with a bonus 12-inch, flexidisc and tour booklet; those extras were not part of the 1979 UK original.

Moth to a Flame — box-set review
Box-set review. The review presents Moth to a Flame as a strong account of Chapman’s first solo phase: Chappo, Live in Hamburg and Mail Order Magic, expanded with BBC material, demos, outtakes and further live recordings.
Particular praise goes to Mail Order Magic. Despite the label and recording difficulties surrounding it, the album is described as powerful and packed with memorable Chapman material. The additional Hamburg performance is rougher than the official live album, but that lack of polish is treated as part of its excitement rather than a weakness.
