Liner Notes

Farm Dogs brought together lyricist and singer Bernie Taupin with Jim Cregan, fellow Rod Stewart guitarist Robin Le Mesurier and singer-actor Dennis Tufano. Their debut, Last Stand in Open Country, was released in the United States by Discovery Records on 9 July 1996. Recorded largely live and acoustically in a circle, the album made Cregan a co-writer, guitarist and vocalist in a genuine collective rather than a hired sideman.

Produced by David Cole and Farm Dogs. Sheryl Crow sang backing vocals on Burn This Bed; Ray Cooper, Tony Brock, Bob Glaub, Gabe Witcher and Sarah O'Brien also contributed.
