Paice Ashton Lord—Tony Ashton with Ian Paice and Jon Lord, plus Bernie Marsden and Paul Martinez—released its only studio album on Oyster/Polydor on 1 February 1977. The record deliberately exchanged Deep Purple’s scale for Ashton’s swing, funk, R&B and pub-stage character.
