Ashton, Gardner & Dyke released Tony Ashton’s Resurrection Shuffle on Capitol on 20 November 1970, backed with Hymn to Everyone. Recorded at De Lane Lea and produced by Ashton, it entered the UK chart on 16 January 1971, peaked at number three and became the trio’s defining international hit. Howie Casey played saxophone.
