1968 — Timeline Comments

I have a couple of gigs in 1968 that I certainly attended that are not on your excellent list, that maybe you could add;
1 14 Sept 1968 Tamworth Staffs Scene ’68 Barbecue Foseco Sports and Social Club.Confirmation of this gig,plus a copy of the advert is available online if you google’ Tamworth Bands History 1960-1990. The gig was in a tent and was a short one. Some guy shouted at the DJ ‘to shut up and get on with it’. Chappo just looked on and said nothing,how times soon changed.
2 I am less certain of the date for the second gig but I think it was Saturday 9 Nov the venue ‘Velvet Underground’ (would you believe) Victoria Restaurant Chesterfield. I could be wrong on the date but I recall it was only a few days before I saw Family at Mothers Club and I saw both gigs on 17 Nov and 24 Dec, so if not in November it would be in Dec.It was definite a Saturday night What I recall from the Chesterfield gig is the power went halfway through the opener ‘See Through Windows’ and the band left the stage and started again with ‘The Weaver’s Answer’.
